The Horticulture Chair and Vice Chair are responsible for running three in-club horticulture shows (Taylor Bowls), and organizing and arranging approximately 4 horticulture related workshops each year (check the calendar for upcoming Horticulture Workshops). The Horticulture Chair is also the liaison with the GCA Zone I Horticulture Representative, making sure the club is participating in any Zone Plant Exchanges, Zone Flower Shows or any other GCA Horticulture Projects.
See the separate Taylor Bowl tab for all Horticulture show schedules, pictures and winners!
The Horticulture Chair or Vice Chair should also make every effort to attend the annual GCA Horticulture Conference, The Shirley Meneice Workshop. Attendance, and all travel and hotel fees, are paid for by the club. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other horticulture chairs from around the country and hear some of the nation's best horticulture speakers, while touring some of our country's finest arboretums and botanic gardens. See the 2010 Report below Of Carrie's trip to Birmingham, AL.
This is a Zone 1 flower show and everyone from Noanett should concider entering some plant material. All plant material will be from  the 19 zone 1 clubs. Carrie Waterman, Lee Paterson and Chris Battat will be helping Cambridge Plant & Garden Club set this up. Follow the link below for the schedule.
